Cook time:  28 min
Serves: 4 people

INGREDIENTS
CHICKEN WINGS - OVEN BAKED
1000 g Chicken wings, Chopped in half
4 tbsp Plain Flour
Salt & Pepper to taste
Olive oil
STICKY HONEY GARLIC MARINADE
4 tbsp Cape Coastal Raw Honey
2 tbsp Soy Sauce
2 tsp Garlic Puree or 4 crushed garlic cloves
1 tsp Chilli Puree or 1 very finely chopped chilli
¼ tsp Ground Ginger or 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
½ tsp cornflour mix with 1 tablespoon warm water
TO SERVE
Spring onions sliced
Sesame Seeds

METHOD
1. Preheat the oven to 210°C fan / Gas mark 8.
2. Chop the chicken wings into wingettes and drumettes.
3. Pat the wings dry with a kitchen paper towel.
4. In a large bowl, mix together the chicken wings, flour, salt, and pepper.
5. Place the flour-coated chicken on parchment paper, on a baking sheet or tray.
6. Drizzle the chicken with olive oil and cook in the oven for 20 minutes until crispy.
7. While the wings are cooking, prepare the marinade.
8. In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, garlic, chili, ginger, and honey.
9. Stir the ingredients together and bring to a gentle boil.
10. Mix cornflour with warm water to remove any lumps, then add it to the marinade and stir for one minute.
11. Turn off the heat. The sauce should thicken as it cools. If desired, remove some sauce for later use as a drizzle.
12. After the wings have baked for 20 minutes, remove them from the oven and place them in the saucepan to fully coat them in the sauce.
13. Place the wings back on the lined baking tray and return them to the oven for another 8-10 minutes.
14. Once the wings are cooked and sticky, remove them from the oven.
15. Add chopped spring onions and sesame seeds to the wings, and drizzle with the leftover sauce.
